ASPAC Golf and Turf has entered the highly competitive arborculture industry with a range of woodchippers regarded as the most advanced chipping system on the market the GreenMech Disc Blade Chipping System.
Greenmech Ltd, the UK based manufacturer of the revolutionary Greenmech Disc Blade Chipping System have appointed ASPAC Golf and Turf as exclusive Australian Importer/Distributor for their range.
The Greenmech Chippers are market leader in the UK, dominating the rental, contractor and municipality market due to the robust design of the chipper combined with the significant cost and labour saving features offered by the patented “disc blade” chipping system.
What is the disc blade chipping system? The disc blade chipping system offers significant advantages of conventional chippers and offers clients:
The disc blade system uses a system of discs that slice as opposed to chop.
When chipping only 1/3rd of the blade area is in use, so when the blades start to dull they can be simply and quickly “turned” to the next sharp edge and chipping re commences.
If damage is done by nails, stones or other contaminants, you simply turn the damaged section away from the cutting area.
Conventional blades are far more susceptible to being damaged and replaced. A real feature of disc blades is on replacement the distance between the blade and anvil does not need adjusting, as they are sharpened from the rear so the front face does not alter.
Currently Greenmech manufacture chippers from 6 to 10 inches in capacity, both PTO powered and road trailed units. They also manufacture more specialist chippers including the Safetrack and Trackchip for hilly or hard to access worksites. All engine powered units feature very popular and reliable Isuzu diesel engines.
A real feature of all Greenmech Disc Blade Chippers is their compact design, enabling their transport with traditional vehicles rather than trucks. The Greenmech CM260 10 inch machine weighs only 1850kg and can be towed with any vehicle rated to this level , including utility vehicles, 4WDs and larger sedans. The design features also mean the unit can be transported with ease into narrow or hard to access worksites (the CM260 has an overall width of only 1590mm).
The Greenmech Chippers are designed to eliminate dead spots and blockages, with the feed rollers and chipper discs extremely close. This prevents materials getting “stuck” between rollers and cutting blades and virtually eliminates blockages. The Greenmech Disc Blade Chipping System will effectively chip all Australian hardwoods and more problematic materials such as Palms, Flax and Tea Tree.
Features standard on all Greenmech chippers include:
The Greenmech Safetrack chipper with Disc Blade technology can go where no chipper has gone before. The patented Safe track system features legs that adjust outwards and upwards, keeping the chipper level on slopes of up to 35 degrees. This can be achieved with complete confidence with no risk of the machine becoming top heavy or overbalancing, due to a very low centre of gravity when one leg is extended and the other closed.
The high ground clearance that can be obtained of up to 600mm is enough to clear hidden stumps in undergrowth or any unseen obstacle. The new Safetrack works on slopes of upto 35 degrees, and is ideal for freeway embankments and other hard to access sites. It is a fact that many man hours are wasted dragging tree limbs from the clearance site to the chipper prior to reduction. The introduction of tracked chippers has helped but they are still limited through ground clearance and stability.
